Gary trains Mexican leaders in three areas:
Mexican Assemblies of God Missionary Training Center - As director, Gary oversees the delivery of cross-cultural ministry skills to Mexican young people that desire to work in other countries or among the many indigenous ethnic groups in Mexico. He teaches "Biblical Theology of Missions", "Missionary Strategies" and "Cross-Cultural Adaptation."
The training program consists of 4 months of classroom instruction and 6 months of practical internship among a Mexican Indian group. The training center opened in September 2000 and over 65 students have enrolled in its first 5 years of ministry. In Spanish the Missionary Training Center is known as CAMAD, a Spanish acrostic for "Centro de Adiestramiento Misionero de las Asambleas de Dios."
"Alfa and Omega" Bible Institute - Gary teaches in both the residential and weekend programs at the Assembly of God Bible school for training Mexican ministers. He has taught "Missions I and II," "Pentateuch," "Church Administration," "New Testament Greek," "Introduction to Theology," "Theology II and III," "Cults," "Christian Education," "Daniel and Revelation," "Prophecy" and "Bible Study Methods."
The training program consists of 3 years of classes with a practical internship before receiving a diploma in Biblical studies. The Bible Institute opened in 1978 and draws students from the southern states of Oaxaca, Guererro, Puebla, Chiapas, Tabasco and Veracruz.
Teachers Training Course - This is a 144 hour course for equipping teachers in the local church. As director of Christian Education for the state of Oaxaca, Gary started this course with curriculum written by Mexican Assembly of God teachers. Upon completing this course a certificate is given by the national Christian Education department of the Mexican Assemblies of God. Gary teaches "Introduction to the Bible," "Interpreting the Bible," and "Educational Ministries in the Mexican Assemblies of God."
Besides these educational ministries, Gary has also hosted Healthcare ministry teams that offer free medical clinics and medicines to needy communities. He has also worked with several short-term teams that help with church construction and remodeling at the Bible Institute.
